Today marks the 11th World Rabies Day, a global event to raise awareness of a deadly disease that still claims the life of a child every 10 minutes.

Here at Mission Rabies, we are going to change that.

In our very first campaign back in 2013, we vaccinated 60,000 dogs against rabies across India in just 30 days. Every day since then we have been actively working towards the goal to eliminate rabies by 2030.

In the last 30 days, we also saw some incredible achievements. Our mega vaccination drive in Sri Lanka brought volunteers from all over the world together to vaccinate over 4,500 dogs in just two short weeks!

On the 25th September, we hosted a workshop in Ranchi, India to celebrate the first year of Ranchi city’s rabies-free status! The event was attended by Mission Rabies teams from across India as well as experts in the field of rabies from the World Health Organisation, MSD Animal Health and local Government officials to name just a few. This One Health approach demonstrates the power of coming together to prevent the 59,000 unnecessary deaths from rabies each year.

We’ve achieved a lot in the last 30 days, but we can’t do this without your help.

Take on the challenge to help us reach our target of £30,000 in just 30 days to eliminate rabies by 2030. You can donate to our campaign page here, or follow in the footsteps of some of our special supporters who have been taking on a variety of challenges in the last 30 days to mark this World Rabies Day.

This is the perfect opportunity to do something amazing whilst helping us reach our goal of zero human deaths by canine-mediated rabies by 2030.

Together, we can eliminate rabies!
