October has been another great month, its now the final push to the end of 2019! Hereâs the main updates from Mission Rabies for October:
In October our rabies education workshops have reached 197 schools in Malawi and 118 in India. Great work by our education teams this month, its always fantastic to see these kind of statistics!
1518 dogs have been vaccinated by our teams in Ranchi, with 0 rabies cases found which is great and emphasises the hard work and determination of the Mission Rabies team there.
Mission Rabies Truck
Sadly our work was hindered by a cyclone hitting our truck team in India, but that didnât stop them from powering through 3 weeks of sterilizations! Brilliant work by everyone!
Our Goa mass drive has concluded! A remarkable 12,006 dogs vaccinated in October, what a team! 24 international volunteers assisted us and our team was phenomenal. Aside from the wonderful vaccinations and rescue cases, no rabid dogs were picked up or reported in Goa yet again. This is absolutely great and illustrates exactly what we have all been working towards. Long may it continue!
October proved to be a bumper month for Mission Rabies in Malawi. Our teams have now vaccinated over 11,000 dogs in Thyolo district. Special thanks must go to DAHLD (Department of Animal Health and Livestock Development) and Dr Patrick Chikungwa for their guidance and assistance with this. You can still donate to our Thyolo appeal today to help us see this awesome project through to the end, visit bit.ly/Thyolo to donate!
On to November!
