We're excited to share an incredible milestone: 1,000,000 children educated by our teams in Malawi!

As our Blantyre campaign continues for this year, our Malawi Education Officers have now reached over a million children, imparting vital knowledge and teaching them the skills they need to protect themselves from this deadly disease.

It is thanks to the combination of vaccinations and the education programme that our team are closer to eliminating human rabies deaths. The lessons take the form of creative role playing performed by Mission Rabies staff, informational leaflets and interactive participation from children to help them learn the actions they should take to stay safe from rabies.

Education Officers visit local primary schools in the districts of Blantyre, Zomba and Chiradzulu to deliver these life-saving lessons. This year's campaign began on April 16th and is already proving successful in having reached over 70,000 children and vaccinated over 15,000 dogs in just the first two weeks!! The teams will continue to visit schools in the targeted districts until the end of the year to ensure these communities have the knowledge they need to protect themselves from rabies.

Huge congratulations for the entire Malawi team!!
